Presentation by Terry Holman on how to exhibit horticulture and win blue ribbons at the upcoming Standard Flower Show celebrating Maryland's Eastern Shore, scheduled for June 18th.
The presentation covered essential aspects of flower show participation, including how to obtain exhibitor numbers from Pam Keeton, proper plant identification using binomial names, conditioning techniques using hot water methods, and staging specimens in appropriate containers.
Terry explained the judging criteria and award system, emphasizing the importance of pre-staging exhibits and following specific rules for different plant categories including flowering annuals, perennials, foliage plants, herbs, bulbs, and combination plantings. The presentation included detailed guidance on transportation tips and included a Q&A session.

All exhibitors must have an exhibitor number, and must complete an entry card in full for each entry and a summary Horticulture Entry Sheet (download below) listing the division, section, class and complete botanical names of all entries. Exhibitor numbers may be obtained by contacting Pam Keeton (pvkeeton@yahoo.com).
Entry cards and Horticulture Entry Sheets may be obtained by contacting Trish Reynolds (pkr26998@gmail.com) or Terry Holman.(thereseholman@gmail.com). Entry cards are to be filled out in advance if possible, using pencil.
If you are interested in entering an exhibit in a Design Class, please contact the consultant listed in the Schedule for that particular Design.
Entries will be received on Wednesday from 1 to 4:30 pm and Thursday from 7:30-9:30 am. All exhibits must stay in place until 4 pm and when the show is over, removed immediately thereafter.
